Drug & Alcohol Services
The Addictive Behaviors Unit at the Irene Stacy Community Mental Health Center is an outpatient treatment program providing services to residents of Butler County.
This unit provides individual, group, family, marital, and couple counseling to individuals faced with drug and alcohol problems.
Often, clients who are experiencing problems with drug and alcohol usage also are experiencing depression or other mental-health issues. We have a unique ability to understand, identify, and treat these dual issues due to our being a part of a community mental-health center. We also have access to an array of services for adolescents and adults that are not typically available to drug and alcohol programs.

Assessment
Every client that requests drug and alcohol treatment has an assessment completed at the first appointment. Our intent is to gather as much information as possible in order to develop a clear picture of the issues the person is facing. In this way, we can make a determination about the type and level of service that is needed to support and assist the client's efforts to change.
Outpatient Level of Treatment
We have found, in our experience, that a combination of group and individual therapy is an effective means of supporting and assisting change. The majority of our clients in outpatient level of treatment are seen once per week for group therapy and twice per month for individual therapy sessions. We are able to provide services to adults and adolescents at this level of treatment. Additionally, family, marital, and couple counseling can be provided, if needed.
Adult Intensive Outpatient Level of Treatment
Group therapy is the main component of the intensive outpatient level of treatment. These services are provided to clients who request or need more frequent contacts or are struggling with establishing abstinence. Clients involved with intensive outpatient services attend sessions three times per week for three hours per session. Typically, clients are involved with intensive outpatient services for eight weeks. Upon completion of this level of treatment, individuals are "stepped down" to the outpatient treatment level of treatment. Additionally, family, marital, and couple counseling can be provided, if needed.
Services Available are:
- Individual & Group Therapy
- Drug & Alcohol Evalutions
- Adult Intensive Outpatient Program
- Community Awareness Programs

Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Treatment
Group counseling is the main component of the Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Treatment (AIOP). This service is provided for the younger population of individuals that when Adult IOP would not be appropriate to meet their needs. This treatment service meets three times per week for three hours. It will also include a parents group for those parents interested in learning about addiction and the program that their child is attending. At the successful completion clients are "stepped down" to individual outpatient treatment for additional care. We offer AIOP on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
